John records much of what Jesus told His disciples in His last hours
before
He was arrested and crucified. We find this record in the book of John,
chapters 13 through 17. In the first part of chapter 15, Jesus gives
His
disciples an analogy to illustrate the relationship we have with Him
and
with God the Father. Jesus describes Himself as a vine, believers in
Him
as branches of the vine, and the Father as the vinedresser, the master
of the vineyard.
ABIDING IN THE VINE is a detailed, deeper look at this illustration,
given
by one who has spent more than 25 years in the "green industry",
working
intensively with plants and gardens. There are many true and valuable
comparisons
between how a vine grows in the natural world and how the Vine grows in
this world.
